Drum Cuts.
Ok, here's what's going down. Firstly, we got an amazing 8 drum tracks recorded in a two day period at Pony music late last month and now we are all very excited about the future of those songs. We have used two drummers on the recordings and mixed up the tracks we gave to each to see what could be achieved. Geoff Mison from Pony Music has provided very nice stuff for "Audrey Hepburn", Kill Fingers", "Change Your Mind" and "Dancin' on a Needle", while session maestro Scaff has put his stank on "The Blackbird", "Sup?", "Anything Good" and "Bitterful".
All that is left for this month is to squeeze the drum parts so they are nice and neat, record some of Rob's guitars and Michael's Bass on the new tracks, and we're looking like being in business.

Rob, someone said they'd love to. We are currently throwing around a few concepts on how to launch and one of them is an internet gig to get the ball rolling. Any thoughts on that???

Internet gig?
Sounds fascinating...
how would that work?
a one-shot streaming event for the public on a special page, possibly accessible in the members area for the true believers? :-)
IIRC, Chickenfoot did something like that recently - as a kind of thank you to the fans.
That was a streaming event that they played at a certain time in the States.
If you weren't online at that time, then you missed it.
International fans were pretty badly disadvantaged by that... which raises the question: Is it a local or international launch? :-)

internet gig
Ah this opens up a real can of worms as there are factions in the band that have the old-school mentality of "you have to play gigs" and there is a smaller, but very focused group that are not about the pub gig at all. As you may have read here from time to time, this is a very different Defryme, and although we will attempt, and I say that with a mouth full of cotton, to deliver up as much of the older songs as we can, some stuff just isn't going to float fifteen years later. I would expect that should we proceed with the concept of a web gig, that it would be free for everyone to watch the stream live as it happens, and then you would later have the option to download it for a small fee. Members of course would download at an even smaller fee. I would think that we would be looking a Pacific time zone for the show though, in theory. Thanks for your input on it Kilnor-fingers.
