Please leave a review as a comment if you feel the urge :)

sup
Love your work. Sounds great. Couldn't like it cos i don't do facebook! Can't wait for XV
Yo Creed!
Epic track... can see it being used for the training scenes in a Rocky flick.. or maybe Apollo Creed's breakaway showcase vehicle... Oh hang on, that was Action Jackson, wasn't it...? anyhow, I digress... Sup is banging, deserves to sell a few million units or more...
Rocky
Rocky is and always will be a chump! I am the master showman, I give the crowd what it wants. Blood, spectacle, charisma - baby you know! :) Love ya stuz
The undisputed Master of Disaster, the King of Sting, the Count of Monte Cristo....
A-pol-LO... Ca Reeeeeeeeeeed!
Nice One Guys!
Between this and the demo of Killfingas, I'm liking the sound already! :-)
It's not as raw and angry as PK and SC, but that's to be expected. The writing has evolved and seems to have a more "mature" edge to it.
Nice work. Really looking forward to hearing the rest of the album.
Kick Ass!!!
"That Was F**king Great :) Thank You... & I can't wait for the Album.
But that was fantastic... Though grown, It still maintained the early Defryme sound,
The whole thing - Brilliant!!!!!!!!
You Guys ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's been worth the wait!
It's been worth the wait! It's new but it's old, make sense? It's almost like you guys picked up right where you left off. Not sure if this is a big deal or not, but the PayPal payments are going through as AU$0.01 not US$0.01. Also, the 128k bitrate is a little low if you plan on offering the whole album for Digital Download at some point in the future. I'd go for 192k+
Great single though.
Bit rates and dollars
1cent = 128kbps
There may be an offer of 320kbps but that would be at a much later date. Yes the kbps is low but that's the point in relation to the price. Its a demonstration of the calibre of songs that will feature on the XV album.
The album itself will not be available as a digital download, so your fears of shit quality though-out can be quashed right here :) The initial version of the album is planned to be of limited release and in hard copy digipak only. The band do not plan to use iTunes or any similar entity to represent their music, so the only place to get your hands on something real, will be right here (unless the band sell-out for mega frikken millions lol).
Money for this version of the single is not the point as far as the band is concerned so AU or US, doesn't matter the band at all - they just wish there was an option to present this version completely free (for those of you about to suggest "band camp" we've looked into that and its not a viable option in this case).
Thanks for letting us know about it though, very observant.
Thanks for your comments about the track too. Yes, we all at Defryme HQ feel the same way. Its got some flavor from before but it is its own thing too... and that can only be good!
Cheers ChiPPy! love your work.

The band do not plan to use iTunes or any similar entity to represent their music
As much as it sucks, itunes a great way to get music to a LOT of people. It's the thing most people think of when they want to get music legitimately from the net.
What's the rationale behind avoiding itunes?
Are the Terms and Conditions not favourable for the artists?
iTunes
At present, the band do not plan on using iTunes at all. The rationale is that iTunes break apart your album and make all tracks available for sale in a singular fashion, which devalues the old-school approach and mindset of an album being an adventure. The band have no interest in allowing this to happen to XV, and should the album prove successful, would be petitioning Sony/BMG to the effect that any re-release of past materials such as Purekiller and Stylo Curiae, be afforded the same respect.
Having said that, there is another rationale in that we would prefer to control the exposure, or lack thereof, from our own domain. That way, we are the ones monitoring our fans preferences, feedback and whatnot, rather than some faceless third party that may or may not operating the in the best interest of musicians or music in general. Defryme use Apple computers, but do not connect with their business model. We would not have been able to offer any version of the recent release of "Sup?", for example, as a free download in its entirety from iTunes, due to the cut that iTunes require from the artist/record company. That is not freedom of choice or expression, so we are not into it. I am glad you raised this point and discussion about iTunes, or similar, as I think it will fast become a thing musicians (truly independent ones, that is) will begin to avoid as other avenues become available to them to self-manage how, when, for how long and it what format their product is distributed. Band Camp is a good option, and in the future Defryme may look at this as being the way to manage their product. Another plus in not using a conglomerate is that true believers in the Defryme sound will google and find us, find our product, and know that any monetary investment made by them, goes soly to the artist, enabling them to do more and be more. We think this is a very positive message to send to fans of our music, and to other musicians. Its true that iTunes reaches a mass market and also true that the majority of this market is not our target. The new push on iTunes is an equal advertising share with movies and TV series, and that's cool if you want to advertise beside these types of things. Its not what we're about though. It would be fair to say that the Defryme credo of this decade is "Totus in domus", which roughly translates as "All in house". Cheers mate, very relevant query, as always :)

Thanks for the detailed response.
I wasn't aware of BandCamp... I think I'm going to have to spend some quality time there! That may turn out to be a dangerous site :-)
So, Reverbnation would be one of those sites that falls into the "myspace/iTunes" branding bucket as well? I know a couple of bands on there... not entirely sure what their cuts are though.
I guess we 'Rymers are just going to have to get out there in the Social Media space and put the word out. True believers will google to find you, but it would be good for new believers to get on board too :-)
I know it's not even released
I know it's not even released yet, but I'm planing in advance here. I'm living in Canada these days, but would most definitely be wanting to get hold of a copy of XV, so is there any idea on shipping costs or distribution?
Distribution
Hi there. Distribution will be through Defryme.com (and only here at this stage).
Shipping costs will be as little as we can make them, while still making sure that your digipak is very well protected.
Cheers and thanks for the feedback ChiPPy!
