Hi Quinn here again,
Yesterday's interview with Lee-Roy went fairly well and I expressed my wish to release our first single for free.
This is something I am yet to really nut out with the other guys, but I think it would be a big thank-you to the die-hard Defryme fans that have patiently waited for our first release off the new album.
I also think it would be a great way for fans to help spread the word about Defryme by way of Facebook and Twitter, as the only pre-requisite to receiving a free download would be to "share" the experience on one or both of these social networking sites.
Ahem... when I say free, I think what I really mean is that a charge would still apply (as we would have to pay the digital transfer company 'something' as its not a free service), it would however be as close to zero as we'd be permitted to go. Also, if we just give it away gratis, it doesn't count as a sale... and that's no good as it technically means we are not moving any units... so...this way the 'sale' still counts and goes toward our being able to show how many units have been 'sold'.
I also like this idea of 'giving it away' as it, hopefully, would deter people from just downloading it on torrents illegally, as it would be pretty low to go that path, due to the 'free' nature of the offer.
I would love to hear any feedback from fans and other interested parties.
The release of "Sup?" will be next Monday morning at 10am and a snippet will be available on this website later this evening.
To those of you who have purchased a Deadman T-shirt to help pay for recording - thank you very much.
To those that haven't... thanks for reading our blogs and keeping up to date with what we're up to. Pervs :)

Sup?
Call me old fashioned but I'd like a hard copy :)
Harder Copy
I agree, in principal, as I am very old fashioned and I like the tactile experience. Financially, at this juncture, its just not a feasible path for us. We're barely getting the funds together to record, let alone take on the added risk (and lets face it, its all risk at our age) of pressing a minimum 1000 copies that we may need to use as drink coasters :) I am offering the single to Triple J this week and if all goes well, we will most definitely be pressing this and subsequent singles. The concept of digital download can't be ignored as the best way to reach the most people in the shortest amount of time, with the least overhead. Also, I don't think that we'd be releasing a single, or a version of it anyway, for free* by any other method. I appreciate the feedback, beamer, and as always, thanks for your support of our rag tag bunch :) peace ~q

Sup? Snip
No worries.......by the way where's the promised Sup? snippet that was mentioned? I'm finding navigation on the site hellishly sluggish and don't have the time this late at night to look....need my beauty sleep.
All the Best
beamer :D
Snippet of "Sup?"
I will upload it tonight barring incident (of which I have many as you might well imagine)
